The Ship

JCCC5 will be sailing on Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas (the same ship we sailed on last lear).

Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas is, to put it plainly, a ridiculously large ship. But what that really means is that there’s just that much more room for really cool stuff on board. What kind of cool stuff? How about the indoor multi-story Royal Promenade with a British-style pub, an Italian restaurant, a cupcake bakery, a wine bar, and a bunch of other great shops? Oh, and did we mention there’s a friggin’ ice-skating rink? (In case we didn’t: there’s an ice-skating rink)

Outdoors on the Promenade deck, the cool stuff just keeps rolling on: a poolside outdoor movie screen; a FlowRider® surf simulator, rock climbing wall, cantilevered whirlpools, a mini golf course, the H2O Zone water park, and much more.

There’s also multiple lounges and dance clubs; a full-service spa; an extensive fitness center with its own boxing ring; a Johnny Rockets diner; a casino with slots and table games; and the state-of-the-art, 1300-seat Arcadia Theatre.

At this point, we are literally tired of typing about all the cool features of the Independence of the Seas. If you want more, tale the virtual tour linked below, have a peek at the deck plans, and watch our slideshow, and see for yourself.

Ports of Call

RCI has several pages of information about the beautiful ports of call we’ll be visiting during JCCC5. Because it’s not ALL about the music and the gaming and the karaoke and the movie nights and the cocktail receptions; there’s also beaches and shops and forests and parasailing and hammocks and architecture and local restaurants and…[runs out of air] [collapses]…
